On 3 November 2022, Himalaya Airlines landed in Gautam Buddha International Airport to successfully operate its first flight from Bhairahawa to Kuala Lumpur. The aircraft that landed in the airport for the first flight was welcomed with water canon salute. This is the first time that any International airlines from Nepal has operated international flight from the said Airport.
Himalaya Airlines has been continuously operating the BWA-KUL
(Bhairahawa-Kuala Lumpur) flights since the 3rd of November. The airlines,
as it seems, plans to operate chartered flights from BWA to Kuala Lumpur which
is the capital of Malaysia for the time being. This initiation from Himalaya
Airlines could be a step ahead for the Gautam Buddha International airlines as
well as the whole aviation and tourism sector of Nepal.
The airlines have been operating KTM-KUL flights on a daily
basis. Previously, the chartered flights from Nepal to Kuala Lumpur was
operated from Tribhuwan International Airport by Himalaya Airlines. Having said
that, the airlines will continue to operate schedule and chartered flights from
KTM-KUL as usual joining the two capitals from Nepal and Malaysia. With that,
passengers now have option to take Kuala Lumpur flights from Kathmandu as well
as Bhairahawa.
Apart from that, Himalaya Airlines will be operating its
flights to Doha, Riyadh, Dammam, Kunming, Dhaka, Kuwait and Dubai as usual from
Tribhuwan International Airport. All the flight schedules are published in their
website and their official Facebook page.
As it seems, the airlines will continue to operate Chartered
flights from Bhairahawa to Kuala Lumpur. The Airlines has made a base at Gautam
Buddha International Airlines from 11 November 2022. This means that the
airlines will fly from Bhairahawa to Kuala Lumpur and back to Bhairahawa
(BWA-KUL-BWA). Before that the airlines operated from Kuala Lumpur to Bhairahawa
and back to Kuala Lumpur. So then Himalaya Airlines will be operating chartered
flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport to Kuala Lumpur for the time
being.
