Moving on, I, myself, am a local of Kirtipur. Having grown
up in this beautiful town, I know most of the things like jatras, histories,
celebrations of the town which many other guides from outside the Kirtipur
might miss. Not to mention, I have been to almost every alley of the town I
know people, I know area and most importantly I know where to go and what to
do.

you are traveling.
Why Kirtipur?
Talking about the real world, Kirtipur is one of the local
areas of the Kathmandu valley. Despite the modernization, the town is still as
lively as it can get when it comes to jatras, festivals, culture, tradition and
other celebrations.
Architectures and the local areas:
Moving deep to the insides of the town, you will find the
most local areas of Kirtipur. The fine architectures of the historical temples.
The stone paved alleys and if you are lucky you get to see some of the
traditional way of doing things like making spices and stuffs.
Witness Agricultural activities in Kirtipur:
Not all but there are many locals who are still involved in
agriculture and different types of activities along with it. So, if you are

Jatras:
Trust me, no other time would be the best time to visit
kirtipur than the time of jatras. You get to witness the local culture,
tradition and celebrations of Kirtipur (Newars) during this time. Not just
that, the whole town becomes as lively as it can get. The traditional dances,
folklores, musical equipment which has been passed on from generations to
generations- you can witness all of this during the time of festivals.
