Architectures and the local areas:

Moving deep to the insides of the town, you will find the most local areas of Kirtipur. The fine architectures of the historical temples. The stone paved alleys and if you are lucky you get to see some of the traditional way of doing things like making spices and stuffs.

Trust me, no other time would be the best time to visit kirtipur than the time of jatras. You get to witness the local culture, tradition and celebrations of Kirtipur (Newars) during this time. Not just that, the whole town becomes as lively as it can get. The traditional dances, folklores, musical equipment which has been passed on from generations to generations- you can witness all of this during the time of festivals.
