If everything goes as planned, Pokhara International Airport is said tobe operatedfrom January 2022, as reported by several sources. However, the international flights are likely to be started only from April next year. So the the aiport might only operate domestic flights during the initial phase.
Pokhara International Airport is going to be the second International Airport of Nepal. Located at the toptravel destination of Nepal, this international airport might be one of the popular airports amongst the tourists who are traveling to Nepal from different countries.
Pokhara is a beautiful city filled with lakes, different local communities, deep valleys and surrounded by mountains. It is also an entry point for trekking to different mountains. This place has everything required for a tourists to have a perfect trip except for the international airport which will soon be added to its ambience.
As of now, Pokhara has a domestic airport which is currently in operation but the international airport might soon takeover it once it comes into operation. The airport is said to be completed sooner than it was expected.
While the international flights are said to be operated from April 2022, we might be only see a few international airlines at the initial phase. One of the very reason can be the corona virus because tourism is still in a recovery phase in Nepal despite it is open for tourists and tourism activities.
Despite the increament in the tourist arrival in last couple of months, there has been comparatively low number of visitors than the time before covid. The international flights at Tribhuwan International airport are lower than what it used to be. Plus, some of the international airlines have not resumed their flights in Nepal yet.
Well, there are still few months left before the international flights starts at the Pokhara International Airport and things might get better as the time comes by. As of now, new year is just around the corner and we can hope for the Pokhara International Airport to come into operation.
