Is it the best time to travel Nepal during Dashain?

Dashain is up next in Nepal. The biggest festival of Nepal foes create a massive impact in all sectors throughout the nation. While most of the services might take a break for atleast a week during this time, tourism and travel industry might operate moderately. If you have already been to Nepal, then it is a best time to explore the culture, traditions , art and architectures of Nepal.

Dashain is a time of celebration with families for Nepalese. Everyone will be in a festive mood during the this time of the year and everyone return back to their families. As a result, the capital will almost be empty during this time. With no crowds and not a single bust roads, you can explore each and every travel destination of the capital without any hassel.

Kathmandu is rich in festivals, arts and architectures. You can get a real taste of these unique attractions if the capital during this time. Apart from that, you can also explore to different travel destinations throughout the country and witness the culture and tradition during this festive season.

Not only that, just a week or so after the end of Dashain, the second biggest festival of Nepal, Tihar arrives. Tihar is a festival of lights and this is the time when you can see the whole country light up for over a couple of days. Not only the lights, the festival has several unique events celebrated with families.

Moving on to the mountains. Since Nepal is recently open for traveling after the lockdown, there will be very few visitors to the mountains. Compared to the time before lockdown, there will be very few trekkers who will be heading for the mountains.

However, you can expect a gradual increment of trekkers in the mountains as well. Monsoon is nearly at the end but still, there are unexpected rainfalls every now and then. Just after Dashain or over Tihar, it will be a perfect time to head on to the mountains for trekking.

Will the services and accommodation be available during Dashain ?

Many organisations, business and service industry takes a break for about a weeks during Dashian. However, the major services might still operate during this time. Some travel and hospitality industry might operate as usual. Airlines and airports will operate as usual. So you do not have to worry about that.

It is not just about exploring and witnessing the biggest festival of Nepal but also a great opportunity to visit different travel destinations of Nepal in a less crowded environment. If you plan on traveling around the nation to explore the cultures and festivals, trust me you will be surprised to witness all sorts of unique traditions and festivals celebrated at different parts of the country.
