Will the second wave of the covid virus pause tourism in Nepal again?

Just after a sudden spike in the arrival of international tourists and the ease in the travel requirements for the internationals tourists who arrive in Nepal, the second wave of corona virus takes another rise again. Well, it has been a while since the second wave of the Covid virus was predicted and it seems pretty much true at the present situation.

As of now, there has been an up rise in the daily new Covid-19 cases reaching up to 1600+ cases in a single day. On the other hand, most of the high schools in different parts of the nation including the capital, Kathmandu has been shit down from today .i.e. 6th of Baisakh as asked by the concerned authority. The schools are likely to shut down for a whole month or at least for a week due to Covid-19 concerns.

Government has also asked restaurants and likewise business hubs to operate only up to 8 pm at night but they can still provide delivery service. Similarly, face mask and health which was slowly vanishing is made compulsory at most of the places. Government has urged people to follow all the health and safety measures and has asked citizens to be careful about the second wave.

However, the day to day activities are smoothly running despite the sudden rise in the Covid-19 cases. As per the statements made by ministers, it seems that the Nepal Government is not planning to impose lockdown anytime soon but they have also mentioned that if things get worse or likewise the government will be forced to impose another lockdown in Nepal. Government has urged its citizens to follow the health protocols seriously and take necessary precautions.

Moving on to the tourism sector, there is a new obstacle again for the industry. Just when the tourism industry seems to take a good step of recovery, the business has again found itself at the middle of the sack. With the news of the second wave of the corona virus and the rise in the covid-19 cases, people have started to take things seriously. There is a high chance that the tourism industry might face next pause again.

But, things might not go deep as the last time for the industry. They have already faced the worst and they know how to make things work. As of now, tourism industry has been operating smoothly than before and they intend on doing so. Tourism industry is all set and prepared to operate their activities smoothly. While many tourism entrepreneurs and travel agents expects the year 2021 to have a few arrival of international tourists, many travel agents are still working their best a with whatever they have and operating their activities smoothly. Plus, thousands of people are already vaccinated in Nepal which is a huge boost.

However, if the Government, CCMC or concerned authority sense something worse with covid-19 concerns then tourism industry might face a little pause. Or, only the selected tourist destinations with high risk zone might only be restricted this time. Well, no one knows the future, we might just have to wait and see for that with the Covid-19 situation.
