Nepal tourism will soon restart officially from 17 October starting with trekking and mountain activities which will be open for international tourists as well. With the news there was always a question, is Nepal safe to travel for trekking? This has been the most buzzing question for last couple of weeks. While many international tourists have already shown their interest in traveling to Nepal when the government officially open the gates for the international tourists but there are quite a lot of them who are concerned about the safety and Covid-19 situation in Nepal before planning their trekking trips. The corona virus situation however in Nepal has not seen any improvement yet but the tourism activities have risen up throughout the country.
Trekking amid pandemic in Nepal (Mt. Lobuche).
Trekking and mountaineering activities might not have been permitted for the international tourists but these activities have been resumed for a while in Nepal for the domestic tourists. Recently, The prince of Bahrain who travelled to Nepal for his trekking expedition was permitted by the Department of Tourism on 22 September and now the news has arrived that he and his team had successfully climbed Mt. Lobuche (6119m) and will be heading for another expedition at M Manaslu. These are some of the top expeditions of Nepal with crazy trekking trails that will provide an adventure of a lifetime. The prince and 15 other member from Bahrain, 3 from Britain and a handful of Sherpas successfully climbed Mt. Lobuche as announced by the Seven Summit Treks Private Limited ( travel agent who is leading the expedition). The team is said to head on for Manaslu Trek on October 6.
A new hope in the tourism field of Nepal
This successful part of the expedition amid the pandemic has given a new hope to the travel agents, tourists, tour operators and tourism industry of Nepal as a whole. It has shown that trekking and mountaineering activities can be carried out and be successfully completed by taking necessary precautions and following the health and safety protocols.
On the other hand, mountain activities like trekking seems to be one of the safest tourists activities that could be carried out as of now. The mountains are far from city areas and have low density which definitely tops the list of the risk free zones. Apart from that, some of the mountain areas are already for of Covid-19 cases and the community over there are allowing only the tourists with negative PCR activities to head on for their trekking and mountaineering expedition. So trekking and mountaineering could be one of the safest adventure activity as of now to do in Nepal.
As far as the services and infrastructures required for the trekking and mountaineering, they might be limited but could be available as per the need as Nepal Government and the concerned authorities seems to be working hard with new plans for the resumption of trekking and mountaineering activities from mid October.
The expedition of Mt. Lobuche is the first trekking expedition of Nepal for the international tourists since the pandemic. Earlier, the sic member team from Nepal was also permitted for by the Department of Tourism for their expedition of Mt. Barun Tse. Apart from the trekking and mountaineering, several other hiking activities have already grown up among the domestic tourists of Nepal. The only thing that the tourism industry of Nepal is waiting is the arrival of the international tourists.
Any best travel agents to choose for the trekking expedition in Nepal?
Moving on, with just 11 days remaining for the trekking and mountaineering to officially resume in Nepal for international tourists, you might want to choose the best travel agent this time. Seven summit Treks PVT. LTD. Is the one I would suggest for you this time, the same travel agent who has been leading the expedition of the Prince. After the successful attempt of their expedition of Mt. Lobuche, the travel agent is definitely one of the top choices for your trekking trip. They provide their service for trekking and mountaineering to different and best high altitude ranges starting above 6000 metres to 8000 metres high. While the reviews about the travel agent are great, they also seems to have many recurring guests who seems to be very satisfied with their service. You might want to visit their site if you are planning for the trek in Nepal anytime soon. On the other hand, many travel agents have already come up with different trekking and tour packages, so you can choose the best out of them.
Covid-19 situation (up to date)
As far as the Covid-19 situation is concerned, there has not been any improvements yet. The daily Covid-19 cases has risen up to the 2000 mark as 2000 plus daily new cases have been registered for last couple of days in Nepal. So if you are already making plans for Nepal tour soon after tourism resumes then you might want to have a back up plan and also with travel insurance (must) despite the possibility of the safe trip.
