Inadequate quarantine facility leads to the suspension of repatriation flights.

The repatriation flights which were supposed to be operated from the 17th of August to the end of the month has all been suspended. The Covid-19 Crisis Management centre (CCMC) who is a responsible body to manage and take initiative for the covid-19 situation in Nepal has issued a letter on Monday to immediately suspend the repatriation flights. The letter was written to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for the cancellation of the repatriation flights due to inadequate quarantine facilities.

As per the rule, all the passengers who lands on Kathmandu through the repatriation flights has to stay in a hotel quarantine for a week at least before heading to their homes. Not only them but anyone who travels to Nepal has to stay in a quarantine for a week or so before they are permitted to roam around.

Government had recently announced the resumption of repatriation flights but now all of them has been suspended as the quarantine facilities are not enough. The hotel quarantine services that was provided for the passengers seems to be inadequate for the new ones. The news has been circulated to the Nepal Embassies around the world and they have already started warning  about the suspension of the flights to the passengers.

This definitely hints  that the repatriation flights could possibly be resumed as soon as the hotel quarantine facilities are free or if there are more room for the new arrivals. Around forty repatriation flights were supposed to be operated throughout this period where the Government intends on bringing around 500 stranded Nepalese from different countries  daily.

While thousands of Nepalese have been rescued through repatriation flights, thousands are still left to be rescued. So there needs to be more quarantine facilities. If not adequate, government should create more of them as there is a huge need of it.

Apart from that, hospitals seemed to be filled with the covid-19 patients as the number of the cases are increasing day by day. Even hundreds of the patients are discharged regularly, the sudden rise in the covid-19 cases seems to be a tough one for the few hospitals that treats the Covid-19 patients.
