Himalaya airlines lands on Manila for the first time



Himalayan airlines has been operating repatriation flights to bring back stranded Nepalese from different countries. The airlines has been operating chartered flights to bring the stranded Nepalese and medical supplies from different countries. On July 11 , Himalaya airlines flew to Manila, Philippines for the first time. This was the first ever flight of Himalaya Airlines to Manila.

The airlines had published notice about the flight before hand where they mentioned some key details before operating the flight. The flight would only operate if the aircraft had 85% occupancy. It seems the flight received the required number of passengers. The flight departed on 11 July. The fare for the KTM-MNL- KTM was set to be $700 ( did not mention about one way or round trip fare) as mentioned in the notice published by the airlines. The passengers who  travelled by Himalaya airlines must submit the PCR report at the time of booking. The airlines also mentioned that the passengers who arrive on Kathmandu must stay in quarantine as per the rules made by Government of Nepal. Furthermore, Himalaya airlines also had flights to Dammam, Saudi Arabia on 11 July and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 12 July.

Himalaya airlines is the only private airlines of Nepal that operates international flights. The airlines flies to 8 different destinations; Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Dhaka, Chongqing and Beijing. Himalaya airlines has been permitted by CAAN to operate repatriation flights amid covid-19 lockdown. The airlines has operated dozens of flight throughout the lockdown period both for passenger evacuation and to bring medical supplies. Himalaya airlines has been continuously updating their notice regarding the repatriation flights in their official websites and social media profiles. The notice also provides the information about airfare of the flights and different Travel agents to book tickets. The airlines also mentions key note regarding the flights in their notice.
